About the Author

Henrik Hillerström was born in Sydney, raised in international Geneva, and has lived and worked in nine countries since. Growing up surrounded by "Grooters" — friends whose parents came from different corners of the world — he watched how these multicultural kids navigated identity, belonging, and the complicated terrain of their parents' relationships.

Those observations planted a seed. What if these global citizens, with their unique perspectives and blended identities, were given extraordinary abilities? What if they could travel to Dream Worlds — alternate realities hidden in their subconscious — and find answers their waking lives couldn't provide?

The Grooters series explores those questions through adventure, romance, and a crystal-powered quest across dimensions. It draws on Henrik's own experiences as a Third Culture Kid, his year of backpacking around the world, and a lifelong fascination with what lies beneath the surface of everyday reality.

When he's not writing, Henrik researches the invisible patterns behind human compatibility, builds apps and card games inspired by the Grooters universe, listens to music in 30 languages, and walks among eucalyptus trees that remind him of his birthplace.
